CALEB SCHAFTLEIN,
Could you please provide us with a professional introduction about yourself and your photography work? Full name
My name is Iryna Kacharhina
I have been working in photography for 4 years now, during which time I have tried subject photography, architectural, street, wedding, but stopped at individual women's photography.During the photo shoot, I manage to reveal not only the external features of the model, but also to touch and see this incredibly beautiful feminine inner world and convey it in my works.
Can you tell us about how you got started in photography?
I worked in tourism, and when covid came, the borders were closed, I started looking for a creative profession for myself. I accidentally stumbled upon a mobile photography marathon and fell in love. I wanted to develop further in this direction and a month later I bought myself a camera and started photographing girls on the streets of the city.
Can you tell us about the most memorable moment you've had as a photographer and what experience you gained from that?
This summer I went on a business trip to another country. When I left the house, the equipment was in perfect order. I had to shoot for 5 days in a big project in nature, far from civilization. I arrive at the site and the camera does not turn on. Of course, I try to fix it, but nothing comes out. I understand that I let the team down and there will definitely be no photos. It's a failure, I'm burning with shame.
I contact the organizers and talk about the problem. And at this moment, the project manager tries to find a solution, looks for at least something similar to a camera and finds it. I am handed a Paper Shoot Camera after a while. Which I learn to shoot in an hour and then go to take pictures.
In the end, there were still pictures. I have captured all the important processes. And the people who saw the photos were grateful.
Since then, I understand that there is a way out of any situation.
Even if it seems terrible at first
What are the most important components of an extraordinary photograph, in your opinion?
For unusual photos, you need:
Constant practice with real people, the ability to find contact with a person and complete the tasks that are facing the shooting.
Allow yourself to experiment
Do not stop learning new techniques
Look a little deeper than just an interesting dress or a beautiful location. Analyze and ask yourself what you want to convey to the audience in this picture.
Can you tell us the story behind creating the photographs you submitted?
The story of the creation of the photo project began in a cozy cafe on the roof of one of the skyscrapers of the city. Stylist Victoria and photographer Irina, who have known each other for a long time and worked together on several projects, decided to meet to discuss their ideas for the next collaboration. A panorama of the night city opened up outside the window, the lights of which resembled stars, and this sight became a spark for their inspiration Victoria, who has always sought to combine classics and modernity in her works, began a conversation about how important details and contrast are in fashion. She recalled how she once saw an exhibition dedicated to space, where not only scientific discoveries were presented, but also artistic interpretations: paintings, sculptures and even clothes. This exhibition left an indelible impression on her. "Why not create something similar in our project?" — She suggested. "We could combine elegance and futurism, as if to transfer fashion to the cosmic future!"
"Imagine: a snow—white suit that will symbolize purity and minimalism, and black accessories will add mystery," the photographer said, drawing an image of a model with a hat and a bag in the air. Working on the project has become a real creative journey for both of them. Every element — from fabrics to accessories — has been carefully thought out. The result was a shoot that not only reflected their vision of the fashion of the future, but also created a unique black and white atmosphere of cosmic elegance.
